To start the testing process at DPS, you will need to obtain a Medical Card. It is simple physical exam. Don’t know of a Doctor?? Let us know we can guide you to one.

Return to DPS and start testing. DPS will provide you with a permit to drive and allow you to take all exams necessary ($25.00)

After Completing the necessary exams, please ensure DPS registers you on their scheduling website (http://txdpsscheduler.com/). Stop by our office, so we can help you find a test date and set up your appointment.

Provide RGV CDL a deposit ($600.00), to ensure your rental spot and pick up additional study material for your Pre-Trip Inspection.

*Next available Road Test dates are usually 4 to 6 weeks out.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:
  • Practice usually starts 3-4 days before the test date in order to keep all knowledge fresh (Weekends excluded).
  • You will need to pay up to $61.00 for your road exam at DPS 2 to 3 days before your exam date.
  • You must have your Class C Driver’s License, Commercial License Permit, and Medical Card with you at all times.
  • You NEED to study your Pre-Trip Inspection Guide in order to better your chances of passing.
    (Pre-Trip Inspection Guide is provided when you make your deposit with RGV CDL).
